The Story
I have always wanted to work for myself but after turning 42 last year; it become more apparent I needed to start this as quickly as possible. I sensed early on, age discrimination rearing it’s ugly head. I thought it was just me; but would come to realize, as time progressed, others were experiencing the exact same situation I was facing.
Long story short, I struck gold when I applied at Jackson Hewitt for a Tax Preparer position, and was given a store front management position. This was perfect because it allowed me to start making pretty decent money, get business operation, management experience and get out of financial debt; this position helped me to accomplish this goal.
However, the position is seasonal and my office is closed until January 2016; therefore I needed to have a steady stream of income. My “Aha Moment” came when I decided to be a Independent Consultant with Pink Zebra. I know many of you are wondering, “What is Pink Zebra?” The Pink Zebra brand allows you to personalize the fragrance that welcomes you home. With our Sprinkles®, you can design endless custom fragrance recipes that are “Uniquely Yours,” as we like to say.
This is what prompted me to start a fundraising campaign in order to have merchandise in the Flea Market, where I rented space. Most client are ok with thumbing through a catalog; however, most want to see the products up close and personal. So, 100% of the monies generated from this will go to purchase inventory only. I have used most of my finances to get out of debt, so I can move into my own apartment, after living with family members for 2 years. I feel blessed to have a resource to turn to, in order to get my business up and running. So, I need your assistance to make this dream a reality and to place merchandise in my store front; in order to keep my space at the Flea Market. Thank you, in advance, for your assistance and consideration.
Sincerely,
Hope Walker
