The  exams have been designed to elevate core body temperature by means of simply one degree, in order to assess what number of calories were burned in every consultation. Though biking did burn extra energy, they determined that a warm bathtub used up as many energy as a 30-minute walk.’The usual blood sugar response to both situations was similar, however top blood sugar after consuming become about 10% decrease while individuals took a warm bathtub compared with once they exercised,’ Dr Faulkner reports.

He also defined that the anti inflammatory houses of exercise are important for our immune systems and help us combat illnesses: ‘This suggests that repeated passive heating may additionally make a contribution to decreasing continual inflammation, that is regularly a gift with long-term diseases, along with type 2 diabetes’.
So, take off the ones shoes–in reality, take off the whole lot and head upstairs.

Sounds Of Soul, From The Land Down Under

Hope Elle

This band of brothers from the Land Down Under has been around since the 1950’s. But their commercial success and longevity was sparked, when they relocated to Miami, FL; at the suggestion of fellow musician and rock legend, Eric Clapton. After experiencing a major musical rut around 1973 and touring tired nightclub scenes. Music producer, Arif Mardin was advised by Ahmet Ertegtin, (head of the US label Atlantic Records) to arranged for the brothers to record their next album with Mardin. And the results, an unforgettable signature sound and complete Disco era domination. The Bee Gees haunting soulful sound, coupled with powerful lyrics gave them the popularity and following they’ve long for. Eventually, this move proved to be highly advantageous to the group, thus spawning hit after hit making the Bee Gees a household name.

A frustrating time surfaced, when the Bee Gee’s noticed they were unable to reach grander heights of record sells. Forced to tour America and overseas nightclubs, just to generate some kind of interest to no avail. In 1973, things got worse for the band and soft rock nor popular music were helping matters any. It was definitely time for a major shake up or they needed to ship out. Through the consistency of encouraging the Bee Gees to lean towards Soul music, ballads were the lead off. Eventually, they would try their hand at disco dance oriented music; and Eureka a US No. 1 hit “Jive Talkin” followed by “Nights on Broadway”.

Falling in love with their new sound, along with a bigger fan based. The album Main Course shot up the charts, and introduce the world to the eldest Brothers Gibb, Barry, and his sexy falsetto became the band’s trademark. The Main Course would be the band’s first charting album, with two top ten singles since 1968’s Idea Album. The follow up album Children of the World was completely immersed with Barry Gibb’s sultry melodious falsetto. Thus songs like “Love So Right”, “You Should Be Dancing”, and “Boogie Child” were all top ten hits with the album peaking at No. 8 in the U.S. The Bee Gees became certified gold and released a greatest hits album spanning from 1967-1972.

After the successful release of a live album, the brothers Gibb heard opportunity knocking. And agreed to work on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack Album, for the film of the same title starring John Travolta. Although, initially not part of soundtrack creation, until post production of the film. They were urged to write songs for the film, which they completed in one week at Château d’Hérouville studio in France. The soundtrack was a masterpiece and three ten singles were, yet spawned again “How Deep Is Your Love”, “Stayin Alive” and “Night Fever” all charted high in the US and UK. It’s believed that, the Bee Gees started disco, but it should be noted the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack may have prolonged it.

During 1977, the Bee Gees sound was undeniable and inescapable starting in Christmas season of 1977 for 8 months, six songs composed by the Bee Gees hit the No. 1 position. And reigned supreme on the US charts for 25 of 32 consecutive weeks. They would also enjoy launching a successful career, for the youngest brother, Andy Gibb given him two top ten hits “I Just Wanna Be Your Everything” and “Shadow Dancing”. And the popular single for Yvonne Elliman single, “If I Can’t Have You”.

The extreme success of the Saturday Night Fever movie, broke multiple industry records becoming the highest selling soundtrack of that time. As of 2010, it’s ranked No. 4 of all time.

5 Morning Beauty Hacks for Dry Skin

Girl looking in the mirror and girl stretching

Winter’s going strong. And we all know the cold weather can really do a number on skin, drying out your face and robbing you of your natural glow. Never fear – we can help you beat dull winter skin with a quick morning routine that’ll leave you fresh faced for whatever comes your way that day!

Woman stretching on the floor facing the window

Your morning beauty routine begins even before you hit the bathroom. Start the day with a few good stretches. This helps combat dark circles by increasing your blood flow (plus you’ll feel totally calm and refreshed).

Woman washing her face at her bathroom sink

Next, wash your face. Morning cleansing washes away the night and any leftover makeup you may have missed, leaving you feeling ready to face the day…literally. Use warm to slightly cool water. The hotter the water, the more drying it is to your skin.

Woman exfoliating her face

It’s important to exfoliate in the winter so you can get rid of all that dead, flaky skin. Exfoliating leaves your skin feeling soft and brightens the overall look of your face. Sensitive skin? Find an exfoliating scrub created specifically for your skin type, or only exfoliate once a week. Time-Saving Tip: Exfoliating pads are gentle, fast and easy to use!

Woman spraying her face with a hydrating mist

Now give your skin an added boost by using a hydrating mist on your face. Think of it as a drink of water for your skin. Give an extra spritz at the end of your morning skin routine, too, to ensure your makeup stays put all day long.

Woman putting face cream on in the batroom mirror

Never, ever skip moisturizing your skin – no matter what your skin type. Believe it or not, even oily skin needs moisture. Apply your face cream while your skin is still damp to help seal in the moisture and further combat dryness. Also, look for products that are oil based (rather than water based) to help attract moisture to your skin. Make sure you use a facial cream with SPF because you still need protection in the winter. Time-Saving Tip: Use a tinted moisturizer and you can skip foundation!

You’re now washed, exfoliated and moisturized! Your skin should be glowing and ready for whatever the winter day has in store for you. Proceed with your makeup (Burlington has a ton at great deals!) and you’ll be totally radiant and ready to go. Natural Skincare Regimen

I found this article browsing the internet and I must say, there are some really good regimens here for natural skincare beauty. has other wonderful articles, you might be interested in reading, like this one below. ~Hope Elle~

Hi my beauties!
Skin care products can be a major source of toxins for many people. Most are packed with chemicals and artificial ingredients that might have a temporary positive effect on the skin, but will have negative long term effects. These artificial ingredients can also be absorbed into the skin and build up in the body. The good news is that there are natural, simple and inexpensive options that actually work better than most commercial products, and without all the harmful ingredients. I first came out with my 10 rules to get a clear skin – Get rid of acne (from which I am glad I got good feedback), and today I want to help you with the different tips I have found effective and useful for a clean Skin care Routine, 100% natural and it really works! (well, at least for me). The best combination of natural skin care options varies based on skin types:

Oily Skin

Switching to gentle and natural skin care options often goes a long way toward removing excess oil production, but in the meantime, there are some natural ingredients that can help prevent breakouts and remove excess oil.

To Exfoliate: A mix of equal parts sea salt and oil (like olive or almond) creates a natural scrub that will help remove impurities without stripping excess oils.

To Cleanse: Oil Cleansing is my go-to cleansing method for any skin type. Generally, those with oily skin will need a higher amount of castor oil in relation to the other oils to keep skin from becoming too oily during transition. In general, a half and half mix of castor oil and olive oil or even a 2/3 castor oil 1/3 olive oil mix seems to work best.

Moisturizing/Toning: Those with oily skin will need less moisturizing as skin adjusts, and often, the natural oils from oil cleansing are enough. If not, a very light layer of coconut oil works, or for those who find that too oily, a diluted apple cider vinegar toner helps keep oil at bay. A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water stored in the fridge works great…

Normal/Combination Skin:

I’ve always loved that term, because really.. what is “normal” skin anyway…

Those with skin that is not typically oily or dry and that responds well to different types of products and makeup usually adjust very quickly to natural skin care options. Those with this type of skin also usually can use a variety of different options and still have good results.

To Exfoliate: A homemade sugar scrub is a wonderful natural exfoliator. The receipt is simple: Mix in a bowl sugar, lemon Juice and olive oil. Then apply on your face softly with your fingers. Massage with circular movements for 2 to 3 minutes with emphasis around the T- Region. Rinse with warm water.

To Cleanse: Oil Cleansing is a wonderful option for every skin type, but is very balancing for normal/combination skin. Usually a mix of about 1/4 castor oil and 3/4 of another oil (olive, almond, etc) works great, but this can be adjusted to suit individual skin.

To Moisturize: Those with normal skin tend to do well with most moisturizing options and often don’t need anything additional as a moisturizer.  A dab of coconut oil or shea butter alone often works great for this skin type. Natural Make-up options usually work wonderfully on this type of skin as well.

Dry Skin

Those with dry or aging skin often benefit immediately from natural skin care options. Often, using natural oils on the skin helps the skin to balance oil production and stop being dry to begin with.

To Exfoliate: Often, exfoliating is not needed for this skin type, but a gentle homemade sugar scrub can be a way to add natural oils  and gently remove dead skin.

To Cleanse: castor oil is the more drying oil in oil cleansing, usually only a tiny amount is needed (about a teaspoon of castor oil in 1/4 cup of another oil like olive or almond).

To Moisturize:  Super-moisturizing homemade lotion, and whipped body butter are all excellent moisturizing options for dry skin types. Plain organic shea butter can also be a simple and effective option.

So how to make a super-moisturizing homemade Lotion?

  • ½ cup almond or olive oil (can infuse with herbs first if desired)
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup beeswax
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Vitamin E oil
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter
  • Optional: Essential Oils, Vanilla Extract or other natural extracts to suit your preference.

  1. Combine ingredients in a pint sized or larger glass jar. I have a mason jar that I keep just for making lotions and lotion bars, or you can even reuse a glass jar from pickles, olives or other foods.
  2. Fill a medium saucepan with a couple inches of water and place over medium heat.
  3. Put a lid on the jar loosely and place in the pan with the water.
  4. As the water heats, the ingredients in the jar will start to melt. Shake or stir occasionally to incorporate. When all ingredients are completely melted, pour into whatever jar or tin you will use for storage. Small mason jars (8 ounce) are great for this. It will not pump well in a lotion pump!
  5. Use as you would regular lotion. This has a longer shelf life than some homemade lotion recipes since all ingredients are already shelf stable and not water is added. Use within 6 months for best moisturizing benefits.

Natural Anti-Aging

There are a ton of anti-aging products available but the best options are the ones you take internally. All of the collagen products that are supposed to firm up skin don’t take into account that collagen must be produced internally and is too large to absorb through the skin.To promote natural collagen production, I’d suggest using coconut oil as a moisturizer and taking Gelatin, Fermented Cod Liver Oil/Butter Blend and Vitamin C to support natural Collagen production internally.

Supplements for Skin Care

I’m firmly convinced that what you put into your body is just as important, if not more so, than what you put on it when it comes to skin health. The supplements that seemed to have made the biggest difference in skin health for me are:

  • Fermented Cod Liver Oil– for the Vitamins A, D and K, Omega-3s and Antioxidants, all which are great for the skin.
  • Gelatin – Which is a pre-cursor for collagen and has made my hair, skin and nails noticeably stronger and smoother (great for cellulite too).
  • Magnesium– An anti-inflammatory and lacking in many people’s diets. Tropical Magnesium Oil seems to be the most effective for skin health.

Going Vegan, Is Not Just For Food, Anymore….

March 06, 2017 Shared from the blog page of

If you’re a beauty enthusiast, then chances are you’ve heard of vegan makeup. While certainly the essential alternative for those following a plant-based diet, vegan makeup products offer incredible benefits that all makeup users can appreciate.

We’ve asked top health-conscious makeup artists and bloggers to share their opinion of vegan makeup and all of its many benefits that may just convert you to the makeup that cares.

For those trying to achieve a healthier lifestyle, vegan makeup products offer a way to extend their healthy commitments into more areas of their life. DeChantell, vegan and founder of Living Well with DeChantell, realized that veganism is more than just the food she eats and loves that she can support this statement with her favorite vegan lip gloss and nail polish. “As I became more educated in my vegan journey, I figured it was time to progress in other areas of my life because it is essentially a lifestyle.”

In addition to being free from animal-derived ingredients, many vegan products are gluten-free which is essential for those who suffer from celiac disease and other skin conditions. According to makeup artist and editor at the Foundation Fairy, Sandy Taylor, the lack of harmful, toxic ingredients like parabens in vegan products also appeals to those without health or diet restrictions. “(Vegan/gluten-free makeup) gives peace of mind knowing that the products they are using are natural and healthy” says Taylor.

As you may already know, vegan products not only offer safer ingredients for one’s physical health, but they can also offer something for one’s conscience.

Vegan makeup specialist Christine Heggestad from Living Clean with Christine made the switch to cruelty-free products after discovering the mistreatment animals endure in labs. “As I became more and more committed to animal welfare and rights, I realized that wasn’t just conveying the importance of the “spay-neuter” cause. Learning how animals were treated in labs to test health and beauty products I realized I couldn’t be part of that any longer. It’s horrifying.”

Luckily for those who want to promote animal welfare, more and more companies are choosing to make their products cruelty-free without animal testing, according to Ben Williamson, a spokesman from PETA

Vegan makeup products tend to leave out the harsh ingredients found in non-vegan makeup which has proven to be quite beneficial for many people. “I strive to live as naturally as possible, so this is another reason I love using vegan and gluten free makeup. Oftentimes, they include ingredients that actually benefit your skin/complexion,” says Heggestad.

Sandy Taylor, for example, has witnessed the change in her clients’ skin after transitioning to vegan products. “(Vegan)/gluten free products simply work and don’t trigger any symptoms. Others who have transitioned into vegan products noticed that their skin looked more healthy than before. This may be due to vegan products being natural and nutrient-rich,” says Taylor.

When it comes to combining values with beauty, vegan makeup leads the way. In addition to being ethical and non-toxic, many vegan makeup products are also packaged in recycled material.

“I specifically look for vegan makeup when purchasing products because you feel better knowing that it makes a global impact,” says DeChantell.

Please stop bragging about your husband on Facebook

BY  · JUNE 25, 2014

When women brag on Facebook about having the “best hubby in the world,” I want to buy advance tickets and popcorn to their inevitable divorce. If you really and truly love your husband and you’re actually that happy, why do you need to show off? Is Facebook your own personal delusion billboard?

Like when did husbanding (as opposed to husbandry, something else entirely) become a competition in which your husband is suddenly The Greatest Of All Husbands simply because he exchanged paper money for shiny baubles or, I don’t know, fixed the shower head? And why do you need to send out a massive brag to your “friends”? If it’s such a big deal, can’t you just tell them over the phone or in person?

Why are you trying so desperately to convince the world that you are happy? It’s always the women whose relationships seem a little strained (or super fucked-up) who are the ones posting about having the BEST HUSBAND IN THE WORLD DAMMIT DON’T LOOK TOO CLOSE OR ASK ANY QUESTIONS JUST ACCEPT THAT OUR CREATED REALITY IS PERFECT BECAUSE I AM SHOVING IT IN YOUR FACE LIKE A JEWS FOR JESUS PAMPHLET!

Hey, I’m not immune to the charms of celebrating one’s love. If it’s your anniversary, by all means, declare your excitement. Here are some examples of fun ways in which to do so: “I’m so delighted to celebrate my anniversary with Jimbo. He is one cool dude.” “Me and Arnold are so happy to go to Cheesecake Factory tonight for our 10th! Woo hoo!” “The kids got up and made us pancakes for our 25th. They’re all surly, terrible teens so you know that means a lot to us.”

And let’s say you just got married. Aww, congratulations! In between posting 18,000 wedding photos of your family’s strained expressions (don’t forget the “wacky” one where everybody makes a silly face! This will show that your family is different from all other, lesser families who have taken this exact same photo!) you may wish to post a status that says something like, “What a wonderful wedding. Looking forward to marriage with my favorite person.” or just “I love Manolo and I’m so glad he is my husband now.” That’s nice. That’s sweet. That’s entirely understandable.

But this thing about the BEST husband — or “hubby,” ewww — has GOT to stop. What’s even worse is something like this: “Sorry ladies, the best man in the world is OFF the market. He’s mine!” Okay, psycho hose beast. Please don’t show up to your next Jazzercise class wearing his skin as a workout suit (if only because it really won’t absorb sweat well at all). Also, you are clearly the kind of woman who is going to stab me for being friends with your husband, so I will show myself the door. Bye-bye.

Look, I like my boyfriend very much. He is a very good person with many good qualities that I do not need to enumerate in detail on Facebook, because if you are my real-life friend, you know why I’m with this fellow, and if you’re not my real-life friend, why would you even care? You wouldn’t, which is why I’m not going to bore you with the details of my fondness for my chosen partner. See how that works? Everyone is happy! And if you’re like, “She just mad cause she ain’t married” — this may blow your mind, but I DO NOT WANT TO BE MARRIED RIGHT NOW. Some day, sure! But not right now. And that’s okay! I am not the best or the worst girlfriend/human/woman and that is okay too!

But enough about me.

I feel like some sort of lady Andy Rooney here, so I’ll stop soon. Ultimately, hypercompetitive wives freak me out because they are boring and empty, and boring and empty people are dangerous. They are dangerous because when they open their mouths at parties I die a little inside and fear I may pop a blood vessel from the strain of not rolling my eyes. If the most fascinating thing you’ve done in your life is get married, I am sorry for you and sad that you do not have a better and more exciting life. I recognize that it’s very nice indeed to meet the love of your life and get hitched (this is great!) but when it is the only interesting thing about you, you are not very interesting at all.

And your husband? Honestly, he’s probably just okay.
