Who’s the prettiest fashionista of them all? Well according to Popsugar.com, it just might be you. If you follow the fashion trends for the Fall/Winter 2016; you’ll have no problem finding the perfect look. Shopping for new clothes doesn’t necessarily mean, tossing out the vintage in exchange for the new. In fact, the complete opposite is true. Sprucing up your last year’s look, with some 2017 trends, is all you need.

This Winter/ Spring 2017 mixed attire must haves include the following, off the shoulder blouse worn with narrow gathered ankle jeans or tights. Its bohemian inspired style and versatility, makes it a definite must have. You can easily mix and match this look with a bikini bottom, long tapered skirt or maternity wear.

The scarf, is making a major comeback. By updating a vintage style with a silk print scarf, you’ve made a statement without saying a word. This look below, is a prime example, of how a scarf should be utilized. It’s eye catching and draws attention to the fashion assemble. A highly sophisticated and elegant style, indeed.

Here’s a vintage classic assemble, that incorporates the structured look, with a hint of Luxe fur. Visit your local second hand boutiques; and the rack for some name brands at major discounts. The pictured look below, perfectly showcases the old with the new. The open toe slingbacks, business suit and strategically placed fur is complimented by a muted print.

CAUTION: This 1980’s Vanity 6 group inspired look, Nasty Girl, is sparking dialogue and sold out racks. With its simple peek a boo lace and alluring laidback style. You can easily transform this look from the office to the nightclub. By adding a gorgeous black long sleeve top. And black leggings with a sexy pump or stilettos. You’ve just turned heads and breaking necks at the same time. Of course, this look should be worn by women who possess, strong confidence and ability.

All these looks are affordable, achievable and most importantly, must haves for late 2016 and early Spring 2017. They are simple, sophisticated, tastefully sexy and yet personalized with you, in mind.

Natural Skincare Regimen

I found this article browsing the internet and I must say, there are some really good regimens here for natural skincare beauty. http://www.myfashiontips.com has other wonderful articles, you might be interested in reading, like this one below. ~Hope Elle~

FIND THE NATURAL SKIN CARE ROUTINE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE – OILY, DRY, MIXED, AGING

Hi my beauties!
Skin care products can be a major source of toxins for many people. Most are packed with chemicals and artificial ingredients that might have a temporary positive effect on the skin, but will have negative long term effects. These artificial ingredients can also be absorbed into the skin and build up in the body. The good news is that there are natural, simple and inexpensive options that actually work better than most commercial products, and without all the harmful ingredients. I first came out with my 10 rules to get a clear skin – Get rid of acne (from which I am glad I got good feedback), and today I want to help you with the different tips I have found effective and useful for a clean Skin care Routine, 100% natural and it really works! (well, at least for me). The best combination of natural skin care options varies based on skin types:

Oily Skin

Switching to gentle and natural skin care options often goes a long way toward removing excess oil production, but in the meantime, there are some natural ingredients that can help prevent breakouts and remove excess oil.

To Exfoliate: A mix of equal parts sea salt and oil (like olive or almond) creates a natural scrub that will help remove impurities without stripping excess oils.

To Cleanse: Oil Cleansing is my go-to cleansing method for any skin type. Generally, those with oily skin will need a higher amount of castor oil in relation to the other oils to keep skin from becoming too oily during transition. In general, a half and half mix of castor oil and olive oil or even a 2/3 castor oil 1/3 olive oil mix seems to work best.

Moisturizing/Toning: Those with oily skin will need less moisturizing as skin adjusts, and often, the natural oils from oil cleansing are enough. If not, a very light layer of coconut oil works, or for those who find that too oily, a diluted apple cider vinegar toner helps keep oil at bay. A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water stored in the fridge works great…

Normal/Combination Skin:

I’ve always loved that term, because really.. what is “normal” skin anyway…

Those with skin that is not typically oily or dry and that responds well to different types of products and makeup usually adjust very quickly to natural skin care options. Those with this type of skin also usually can use a variety of different options and still have good results.

To Exfoliate: A homemade sugar scrub is a wonderful natural exfoliator. The receipt is simple: Mix in a bowl sugar, lemon Juice and olive oil. Then apply on your face softly with your fingers. Massage with circular movements for 2 to 3 minutes with emphasis around the T- Region. Rinse with warm water.

To Cleanse: Oil Cleansing is a wonderful option for every skin type, but is very balancing for normal/combination skin. Usually a mix of about 1/4 castor oil and 3/4 of another oil (olive, almond, etc) works great, but this can be adjusted to suit individual skin.

To Moisturize: Those with normal skin tend to do well with most moisturizing options and often don’t need anything additional as a moisturizer.  A dab of coconut oil or shea butter alone often works great for this skin type. Natural Make-up options usually work wonderfully on this type of skin as well.

Dry Skin

Those with dry or aging skin often benefit immediately from natural skin care options. Often, using natural oils on the skin helps the skin to balance oil production and stop being dry to begin with.

To Exfoliate: Often, exfoliating is not needed for this skin type, but a gentle homemade sugar scrub can be a way to add natural oils  and gently remove dead skin.

To Cleanse: castor oil is the more drying oil in oil cleansing, usually only a tiny amount is needed (about a teaspoon of castor oil in 1/4 cup of another oil like olive or almond).

To Moisturize:  Super-moisturizing homemade lotion, and whipped body butter are all excellent moisturizing options for dry skin types. Plain organic shea butter can also be a simple and effective option.

So how to make a super-moisturizing homemade Lotion?

Requirements

  • ½ cup almond or olive oil (can infuse with herbs first if desired)
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup beeswax
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Vitamin E oil
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter
  • Optional: Essential Oils, Vanilla Extract or other natural extracts to suit your preference.

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients in a pint sized or larger glass jar. I have a mason jar that I keep just for making lotions and lotion bars, or you can even reuse a glass jar from pickles, olives or other foods.
  2. Fill a medium saucepan with a couple inches of water and place over medium heat.
  3. Put a lid on the jar loosely and place in the pan with the water.
  4. As the water heats, the ingredients in the jar will start to melt. Shake or stir occasionally to incorporate. When all ingredients are completely melted, pour into whatever jar or tin you will use for storage. Small mason jars (8 ounce) are great for this. It will not pump well in a lotion pump!
  5. Use as you would regular lotion. This has a longer shelf life than some homemade lotion recipes since all ingredients are already shelf stable and not water is added. Use within 6 months for best moisturizing benefits.

Natural Anti-Aging

There are a ton of anti-aging products available but the best options are the ones you take internally. All of the collagen products that are supposed to firm up skin don’t take into account that collagen must be produced internally and is too large to absorb through the skin.To promote natural collagen production, I’d suggest using coconut oil as a moisturizer and taking Gelatin, Fermented Cod Liver Oil/Butter Blend and Vitamin C to support natural Collagen production internally.

Supplements for Skin Care

I’m firmly convinced that what you put into your body is just as important, if not more so, than what you put on it when it comes to skin health. The supplements that seemed to have made the biggest difference in skin health for me are:

  • Fermented Cod Liver Oil– for the Vitamins A, D and K, Omega-3s and Antioxidants, all which are great for the skin.
  • Gelatin – Which is a pre-cursor for collagen and has made my hair, skin and nails noticeably stronger and smoother (great for cellulite too).
  • Magnesium– An anti-inflammatory and lacking in many people’s diets. Tropical Magnesium Oil seems to be the most effective for skin health.

How To Keep Your Skin Beautiful This Winter

BEAUTY HACKS THAT WILL KEEP YOUR SKIN GLOWING THIS WINTER

◅ ▻

December 19, 2016

Winter is a beautiful time of year full of so many reasons to dress up and be extra glam, but it is also infamous for dry, cracked, irritated skin. This year, don’t hide your pretty and sweet face to avoid the frigid temps, clumpy snow, and cold winds. Just try these top winter beauty hacks instead from your friends at Beauty Bakerie and glow from the inside out.

EXFOLIATE YOUR FACE AND LIPS

Although common in the winter, dry flaky skin is not appealing. Combat the hydration-ridden winter air by exfoliating your skin about once per week. Use a gentle exfoliating scrub for oily or combination skin, and a peeling gel product for sensitive skin. Lips are even more sensitive to the harshness of winter and get cracked very easily. Slough away dry skin and reveal a soft pout with our Sugar Lip Scrub.

SWAP OUT YOUR CREAM MOISTURIZER FOR FACE OIL

This time of year, your sweet skin may need something more nourishing and penetrating than your usual cream moisturizer. With smaller particles than thick cream, a face oil uses a combination of hydrating oils to absorb well and sooth dry, inflamed skin. Apply a little Sugar Lip Scrub before bed for a hydrating boost for your lips.
ADD OATMEAL TO YOUR BATH

A warm bath is not only amazingly relaxing in the dead of winter but it can also be soothing and hydrating. For your next soak, add oatmeal and dried lavender to your bath and soothe your irritated, dry, and itchy skin. Once you’re out, warm up a bit of coconut oil in your hands and apply it all over your body.
USE YOUR FAVORITE WATERPROOF MAKEUP

The smudge-proof, waterproof matte and metallic  lipsticks, brow gels, cream eyeshadows, and gel eyeliners from Beauty Bakerie are essential for winter to combat the harsh wet weather. Use a black or brown gel eyeliner in between your lashes in place of mascara to avoid smears and clumps, apply an illuminator on your cheekbones to glow through the snow, and rock a red Lip Whip for the holiday season.

Try these amazing beauty hacks this winter and continue to rock your favorite looks day and night without dry, flaky skin or migrating makeup. Share your favorite winter beauty hacks in the comments below and check out more beauty tips inside our blog @ http://www.beautybakerie.com

A Bakery of Beauty Awaits

5 REASONS TO CHOOSE OUR FLOUR® SETTING POWDER

                               January 22, 2017

Hi Sweeties,

We know you are excited to get your hands on our newest product, our Flour® Setting Powder. The Flour® Setting Powder is 100% Vegan* (except the Pink Flour) and will come in 4 shades: Brown, Pink, Translucent and Yellow. There is so much information on the web about setting powders-we figured it would be best to talk about ours specifically, how it will charm its way into your home and makeup bags!

1. As with nearly all of our products, a little goes a long way! You can use a brush to lightly dust your face to set your foundation into place or you can use a beauty sponge to apply the Flour® just beneath your eyes to set your concealer and foundation.

2. It is mattifying! If you have combination or oily skin, the Flour® lends itself to oil control through its oil absorbing technology. Your oily days are over.

3. It was made to have a lightweight feel. This can be attributed to its micro-fine translucent powders.

4. #WhatSmudge Cake Mix Foundation? While it is underway, make no mistake about what the Flour® can do on its own. It can be worn alone for those opting out of makeup for the day but is best atop your foundation-locking in your look while sustaining your skin’s natural moisture.

5. Lastly, there is no flashback. While we love powdered donuts, we expect to enjoy eating them without looking as though we did.

Flour®Setting Powder

Oven Release Date: February 2017
